Vignesh’s curiosity for cameras began in his school years. From exploring it as a hobby, it became a passion in his college years, which is when he created Chasing Pixels. Having studied and practised as an architect, his love for design married harmoniously with his passion for cameras. He is a completely self-taught photographer and filmmaker.
He started out with photography and progressed to filmmaking as both were different dimensions that conveyed the same stories in very different perspectives. It’s a question that he can never answer even today, which he prefers more, photography or filmmaking.
To him, it’s ultimately a quest, a chase, of frames and moments, of light and shadow, and of stories waiting to be told. His strength lies in his ability to conceptualise stories tailored to each project and seamlessly integrate them into the final work. His architectural background facilitates his effortless communication with designers and their ideas. He possesses a deep understanding of the challenges associated with conceptualising and bringing a building to life, comprehending the key aspects that a designer would like conveyed.
Since his college years, Vignesh’s belief has been that design can deeply affect us emotionally. A well-designed space evokes an emotion in everyone experiencing it. This belief has transcended into his photography and filmmaking journey as well; only now, his challenge is to capture those emotions.
He’s constantly pushing his films to be more engaging and immersive, to the point a viewer feels they’re in the spaces themselves. For this, he’s always questioning and exploring how spaces can move us. He’s always Chasing Pixels.
